Build your kit.

An offline library and a local AI that answers from it, on a USB stick: medicine, water, food and shelter; maps of the whole world with elevation, plus street-and-trail detail where you live and travel; the Open Source Ecology machine plans; Wikipedia; country profiles and travel guides; and A Civilization Worth Inheriting. Talk to it or type. Offline it works from what it carries. Online it brings in the weather, alerts and news for where you are, and fetches what it thinks you'll need next.

Get the launcher
  1. Unzip the launcher onto the drive and put kit.json next to it.
  2. Double-click start-mac.command, start-windows.bat or start-linux.sh. The first run downloads everything on the list; leave it plugged in.
  3. After that it runs with no internet. When it is online it fetches weather, map and library updates, and can ask a cloud model the hard questions.

Or let your AI build it

Connect this to Claude (or any agent that speaks MCP) and describe what you need: "a 128 GB stick for a family of four in Humboldt County, two Windows laptops, one kid with asthma". It sizes the kit and hands you the file.
